“DiverCity” – Official Launch of the New Educational Game

“DiverCity” educational game was officially launched today at Dasaran Educational Center. The game has been developed in the frames of “Promoting tolerance among schoolchildren” project initiated by Dasaran and implemented jointly with the U.S. Embassy Yerevan and Save the Children Armenia Country Office. The game aims to promote tolerance and rightful behavior in problematic situations, and to contribute to the development of progressive and tolerant future citizens. The official launching event was attended by the representatives of the US Embassy and Save the Children Armenia Country Office, teachers, school students and other guests. The Founding President of Dasaran Educational Program Suren Aloyan delivered a welcome speech, highlighting the huge interest that the game has gained within a very short period, and stating that the game has been played by more than 12.000 people already. - We believe in the idea of promoting tolerance, and we’re happy to build a very big city of tolerance – “DiverCity” with all of you, - mentioned in her speech US Embassy’s Political Officer Somer Bessire-Briers. Iren Sargsyan, Education and Youth Expert of Save the Children Armenia, underlining the importance of children’s involvement in the game development processes, stated that with the help of the game Armenian school students will learn how to effectively communicate with each other and act correctly in conflict situations. A group of school students also had the chance to go through the various stages of the “DiverCity” game, stating that they gained amazing friends in this cool city, who’ll help them be more tolerant in this life and look differently at the world.
