What Would Dickens Write Nowadays
It was a wonderful morning. I woke up and hurried to school. Everything was strange outside. It seemed to me as if it was a magical day. When I reached school, there was nobody there. I met a man who had a magical diary in his hand. I greeted him and asked who he was. He answered that he was Charles Dickens. It was like a dream. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Knowing that I studied there he asked me to give him some information. I offered him go to our library. Mr. Dickens was very surprised when he saw so many books there but at the same time he became sad because he saw few readers there. Then we went to the computer’s classroom. I showed him all computers and explained how to use them. I told him about the Internet which helped the children to get more information and to find the answers to all their questions.
Mr. Dickens was glad that there were various sources to enrich the knowledge of the twenty-first century’s children. Then he opened his diary and wrote something. When came the time to be parted, he gave me his magical diary. There were many wise sayings, expressions and aphorisms there. I liked this one, " Never say never ". This expression was first used in Charles Dickens’s "Pickwick Paper" in 1837.
I found a work in that diary which was titled "The Twenty-First Century Tecknology".
When I reached home I immediately began to read his biography and knew that he had lived more than two hundred years before and had had a very hard life. I read about "Armenia and Armenians" in his diary.
"You are a clever nation. You like to study and work. You should learn much. You have everything to become powerful and rich. Read more books. You have a rich depository of old manuscripts. Investigate them. Use computers and new technologies to enrich your knowledge. This time I shall write about ancient culture of your country, about big smiles and friendly faces of your people, about Noah’s Ark on Mount Ararat, about beautiful old churches, impressive cross-stones, medicinal herbs and many others of your country.
I would like your children live prosperous and there will be no " Oliver Twists" in your country".
Used the Internet.
